On Monday, TKS Elangovan from the DMK party strongly criticized the BJP-run Central government regarding the new education policy, accusing them of wanting Indians to stay in the position of "Shudras."

During a harsh critique of the BJP administration, TKS Elangovan charged them with attempting to "destroy" the Macaulay educational framework, known for nurturing distinguished Indian scholars and scientists.

Elangovan asserted that the administration intends to implement an educational approach based on the Vedic system, which he argues lacks any "scientific foundation."

"Their intention is to eliminate the Macaulay educational system, which has yielded excellent students and accomplished scientists from India; furthermore, Indians are leading organizations globally. The education system in Tamil Nadu stands out as the finest within India. However, their plan involves discarding this model for an unscientific Vedic-based education approach. Their ultimate aim is to keep the populace of India subordinate. This reflects the ideology of the RSS, being implemented through the current BJP administration. While language plays a minor role, they're contravening constitutional tenets. If they were to adopt the new national policy at central schools using the CBSE framework, those institutions would become empty. Students prefer state board systems," explained the DMK representative to ANI.

Following this, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis responded to comments made by Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) leader Sonia Gandhi and praised the new National Education Policy (NEP), stating that it represents an “Indianization” of India’s educational framework.

Fadnavis told journalists in Nagpur that he believes this (NEP) represents the Indianization of India's educational framework.

Sonia Gandhi had launched a fierce critique on the Centre on the issue of NEP, accusing it of implementing its "three core agendas -- centralisation, commercialisation and communalisation" in an opinion piece written in The Hindu.

In response, Chief Minister Fadnavis said that Sonia Gandhi ought to acquire further knowledge and endorse the 'Indianness' of India’s educational framework.

The Chief Minister stated, "If the Education Policy introduced by Macaulay to subjugate our nation is replaced andIndianized, I believe nobody should object to this. Every nationalist would endorse it. In my opinion, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi ought to be well-informed about this matter and wholeheartedly back the Indianization of India’s educational framework.”

The Tamil Nadu administration, headed by MK Stalin, is in disagreement with the Central government over the three-language policy outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 as well as the redistricting process. (ANI)
