Showers Expected: Afternoon and Evening Island Forecast Amid Shifting Intertropical Weather

Sri Lanka, April 26 -- The Intertropical Convergence Zone, where winds from the Northern and Southern Hemispheres meet, influences the weather on the island.

Islands across the area will experience showers or thunderstorms primarily in the afternoon or evening.

A few periods of rain might take place in the coastal regions of the Western province as well as in Puttalam, Mannar, Galle, and Matara districts during the early part of the day.

Substantial rainfall of around 75 millimeters is expected in certain areas within the Central, Uva, and Eastern provinces as well as in the Vavuniya and Polonnaruwa districts.

Hazy conditions may occur in parts of the Central Province, Uva Province, and Ampara District during the early hours of the day.
