ECG Ladies Ignite Fire Safety: International Edition

By Laudia Sawer

On April 2nd, the GNA reported that the Tema chapter of the Power Queens Club at the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) underwent fire safety training. This initiative aligns with the club's mission to equip and educate its members on critical topics.

The workshop conducted at the ECG Tema Regional Office saw female members from the GNFS guide the ECG women on various home safety concerns.

The women were warned about avoiding overloaded electrical outlets, ensuring supervised open flames, and maintaining proper ventilation for heating devices. Additionally, they underwent instruction on using fire extinguishers effectively.

The interactive workshop provided the women with a broad understanding of how the GNFS operates along with the necessary steps to take during fire emergencies.

They were additionally encouraged to inform their coworkers and family members about basic safety measures to avoid incidents and fires.

Engineer Madam Anabel Zormelo, who serves as the President of the Tema ECG Power Queens, mentioned that the training session was arranged to enhance education and disseminate knowledge about safety measures and fire prevention techniques.

Madam Zormelo emphasized that it was essential for them to receive education aimed at being more mindful of typical errors made at home which might lead to fires or other accidents.

The Power Queens Club consists of all female employees at ECG who strive to support and empower their fellow women within the organization.
